What areas does Eric Miglin Jazz perform?

I am based in NW Ohio - specifically Van Wert - and travel throughout the Ohio-Indiana-Michigan area for shows. Currently my furthest regular-scheduled event is 3 hours away. However, I have performed single events as far as Florida & North Carolina.

What is a typical performance like?

Senior Performance: I will sing, play trumpet, and tell the stories of the greatest Jazz standards of the 20th century. Most people still remember the songs composers, singers, and history, and sometimes bring their own stories and history to my performance. Every show is filled with fun conversation, beautiful melody, great stories, good-old humor, and long-forgotten memories.

How much do you charge?

1-hour Weekday Show - in Van Wert - is $150. Drivetime - outside of Van Wert - $25/up to half-hour. (ex: Celina rounds up to 30-min drive = $175. Wapakoneta rounds up to 1-hr drive = $200, Lake Michigan is a 3-hour drive = $300).

What setup-area or equipment do you need?

I bring all my own professional audio equipment. Perfect sizes for the smallest-corner in a gathering room, all the way to the largest dining hall or outdoor park. No matter the venue, the sound will always be rich, top-professional quality. I only need an electrical outlet.

Pre & Post Performance: I arrive at least 1-hour early, and setup with as little disruption as possible. After the performance - if it suits the venue - I might play a few more songs, or stop and talk with the residents for a while, and then tear down my equipment. I've performed for some residents so often, I consider many of my regular-attendees my friends. That said ... I know you are on a schedule, and I'm perfectly happy being told it's time to go. :-)

Other Performances?

I also play as main and/or background entertainment for Wineries, Breweries, Coffee Houses, Art Shows, Street Festivals, Dinner Events, Business Parties, Private Parties, and more. I have been opening act for professional musicians, and played for more Nursing Homes than I can count.

The music is so simply sophisticated and beautiful to today's ears, it really is the perfect background music: creating just the right atmosphere to enjoy conversation with a friend or to simply enjoy the beauty each melody adds to the event or location.

Dinner Performance: I will smoothly sing, play cool trumpet, performing the greatest Jazz standards of the 20th century. The sound is instantaneously relaxing - awkward silence won't happen - and the music invites the conversation. Careful ... someone might just fall in love.
